〈和紙造形とわたし〉

私の住む埼玉県小川町は
"和紙の里"と呼ばれて親しまれており、
職人さんによる手漉き和紙は
やさしくあたたかい魅力的な素材です

特に2014年にユネスコ無形遺産に認定された
「細川紙（ほそかわし）」は
強度とツヤ感があり造形にぴったり

イラストレータとして
立体造形でお仕事していた私は「和紙」と出会い、
ご縁のもと2010年にここ小川町に移住


また作品作りと並行し、
和紙をつかったワークショップを開催

手を使って創造することの喜びや好奇心、
自分の可能性の扉がちょこっと開くような
「ものづくり体験」も発信中

〈日本の野鳥について〉

和紙のふわふわとした素材感を活かして、
“日本の野鳥”をモチーフに
ポップでカラフルな作品を制作しています

自然と人の暮らしと調和し、
機能美・かわいらしさ・あたたかさ
そして「潔さ」がつまった野鳥さんたち♡

私たちの暮らしや思い出に
そっと寄り添う野鳥さんが
いつでもそばで見守ってくれるように
未来への後押しになってくれるように

Hello. I’m Tomomi Nakano, a Washi sculpture artist. 

Welcome to my online shop for my art works and handmade Washi items.



Washi is Japanese traditional paper used in various cultural ways. 


Washi can make you feel relaxed,

Has a good effect on your wellness of mind, 

And gives you a feeling of calm.



I love birds, especially the little wild birds seen in Japan.

I think the wild birds are holy, connecting us to mother nature.

Birds can bridge you and I, one culture to another, and the people to the earth.
I hope my little birds bring you “NAGOMI なごみ-relief”




[ About Washi Sculpture ]

I live in Ogawa Town, Saitama, Japan,  

where it is well-known as a home to Washi. 


Washi is a fascinating material, being handmade by artisans
who have inherited traditional methods from generation to generation. 　


I use Hosokawa-shi for my works.
Its durability and glossy features make it just a perfect material for shaping and molding art works.
Hosokawa-shi is the finest of Ogawa Washi which was added by UNESCO to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2014.
